Just wanted to let you all know about a new indie author I discovered who I love…Wendi Wilson. I mentioned her in my last post, but I wanted to share her book with you – Shadowed Strength. This book is exactly what I like to read: superpowers, a likeable underdog heroine, and a sweet romance. Wendi built up the story masterfully, and I can’t wait to read the sequel. (Seriously, I would love to get my hands on the ARC when it’s ready!) Here are the links, both to my review and to buy it:

I’m currently reading IA: Initiate by John Darryl Winston, and I’m sure I’ll be posting about that book too. It reads like a modern classic, like something you would be assigned in school but way cooler. 🙂

Got a tweet from fellow author, Wendi Wilson (who wrote the fun and amazing YA paranormal romance Shadowed Strength), about the 7/7/7 Challenge. I hadn’t heard of it, so I checked out her blog post and saw it’s a challenge between authors, to post seven lines from from the seventh line of page seven. Reminds me of my favorite Iron Maiden album, can you guess which one? 🙂

So here’s mine, from the sequel to Connected:

“I had the strangest dream last night,” Roz said.

“Was it a… vision?” I whispered. My stomach sank at the word. Through her visions Roz could see glimpses of the future.

“I don’t think so. I fell asleep watching some old sci-fi show with my father, it was probably from that.” Her voice sounded upbeat, but I could feel a sense of uncertainty from her.

“What was it?” Tommy asked.

“I saw this man standing behind some homeless looking dude. Then it was like the man hugged him from behind and the homeless guy slumped over. Like he was squeezed to death or something.”

Can’t wait to finish the sequel, though I’ve yet to come up with a title.
