What are you reading this summer?

I’ve been stupid busy, or at least busy avoiding writing. I’ve got book 2 of The Vampire Cure in the works, as well as an offering for the new platform, Kindle Vella, so I’m not exactly bored, though life has been getting in the way as of late.

Still, I miss writing blog posts and interacting with readers. And so, I have one question for you:

What are you reading or plan to read this summer?

Apart from a book on procrastination I’ve been putting off reading, I don’t have anything planned. I’d like to finish IT in my lifetime, if it’s possible, and also the subsequent books in the John Dies at the End series. I also have a ton of awesome indie fiction on my Kindle too, that would be absolutely fun to read.

  3. I’m reading all the books in the “A Haunted Bookshop Mystery” series by Alice Kimberly. I think I read the first one years ago, but I’m re-reading it and the 5 or 6 that follow.

    I’m currently reading Once Bitten: A Vampire Urban Fantasy Mystery by Tina Glasneck and I have a list of some other books I am looking forward to reading this Summer as well.

  7. I am/will be reading Michelle M Pillow books & Skye MacKinnon books. Can’t wait to get started!

  9. I am catching up on all the kinds of books I have that are in a lot of genres which I had to put aside in order to read Mysteries for the weekly book club I was in before the pandemic. It is fun to read different kinds if books, not just the same ol thing.

  11. I’m reading KEEPERS OF PEACE (Song of Ancients Book 3) by Jonathan Michael Erickson. After reading TALES OF DHARMA (the prequel) and rereading RELICS OF ANDROMEDA and LABYRINTHS OF TIME (Books 1 and 2) I am psyched!

  12. I am currently reading The Henna Wars and The Runaway.
    But I’m trying to read 10 books, and I’ve only finished 5 so far. Wish me luck!

  14. Currently reading “The Gospel According To Blindboy” by Blindboy Boatclub, “The Galaxy, and the Ground Within” by Becky Chambers & “Convenience Store Woman” by Sayaka Murata.

  15. I reading two books Far From Destined by Carrie Ann Ryan and Black Light: Celebrity Roulette by Livia Grant, Renee Rose, Sue Lyndon, Maggie Ryan, Measha Stone, Maren Smith, Dani Rene, and Lesley Clark.

  17. I just started reading the Bridgerton series and just finished the first one The Duke and I by Julia Quinn.

  22. I’m reading When in Rome by Gemma Townley, and Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. I’m also planning on reading some short stories from the Victorian era, and Host by Stephanie Meyer.

    You’re brave for trying to take on IT. And John Dies at the End is Such a fun novel. It’s one of my favorites. This summer I’m reading some old favorites. If you’re into a cynical and apathetic protagonist trying to find her place in the world who is followed by a trail of gruesome murders I recommend A Carnivore’s Inquiry by Sabina Murray. Hope you enjoy your summer.?

  24. I am currently ready Queen Alpha book 2 of NYC Mecca Series Jaymin Eve and Leia Stone. She has done some great work and I would highly recommend the Curse of the Gods Series. So incredibly funny and witty. Good luck on your writing!!

I was pleased to hear that you are close to completing your 2nd book, which reminds me to buy the 1st one (I have to set reminders for things like this..)   31. I have been reading the Wealth of Time series by Andre Gonzalez. I am on book 4, Keeper of Time, there are 2 more after this one. I am really enjoying them as I love time travel stories a lot.

  33. I am reading whatever is on my huge TBR. I got a Kindle Unlimited 6 month subscription for Christmas and I was trying to make the most of it, so anything I read from December to the end of May was from Kindle Unlimited and anything else was saved for ‘after’. Well, now its after and I want to whittle it down.

  36. I’m looking forward to read the latest from Ana Calin, K L Moody and Ella J. Smyth. What I would give for a couple of extra vacation weeks. 😉

  37. Just finished David Weber’s Safehold series. I’m going thru Diana Palmer’s Morcai Battalion series. After that, I’ve got some ARCs that I’m itching to get to.

  38. I’m currently not reading anything. I’d like to read A Thousand Letters Home by Teresa K. Irish (Author), Aarol W. “Bud” Irish. It’s the letters that the authors father wrote to his wife(then girlfriend) while he was is in WWII. The family is from not too far where I grew up. I met her at a local library talk and bought her book for my Mom. She just read it and loved it! She let a friend of hers borrow it and I told her when he’s done with it, I’d like to read it.

  39. A lot of fantasy books as I’m part of the Indie Fantasy Addicts summer reading contest/challenge whatever. It’s been loads of fun so far.

  45. I’m listening to the audiobook version of The Cursed Witch, book 1 of The Nightcaster Chronicles by R L Perez and reading the Neil Gaiman Graphic Novel A Study in Emerald, which is a bit of a homage to Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes (A Study in Scarlet)
