Happy Halloween Everyone!
I had intended to post an article about all the things I love most about Halloween, but the file I was working on has disappeared.
I know, spooky, right? 🙂
So anyway, I’ll post a top 4 favorite things about Halloween, before I dress the kiddies up and take them out trick or treating. In case you’re wondering – my 6 year old girl is dressing up as a black cat, and the 2 year old boy is going to be a minion. Can’t wait to see all the little ghouls and Disney characters that will come to my door tonight!
4) The Decorations
It’s always so much fun to see the houses that go all out for Halloween! Witches, ghosts, goblins, vampires, even animatronics if you’re real lucky. Great decorations scare the little ones and get me into the wonderful spirit of Halloween.
3) Dressing up in Costume
Now that I’m older and ridiculously busy, I don’t get much of a chance to dress up myself, but I love getting the kiddos dressed up! My girl really takes the cat dress up seriously, yowling and clawing at her friend who dressed up as Minnie mouse.
2) The Candy
Even though there was an abundance of hard candies last year, I have high hopes that they’ll get some good stuff this year. As a parent I get to invoke the candy tax, though my cut isn’t as exorbitant as others – 10% is just fine with me. Who doesn’t love free candy?
1) The Movies
Well, the movies have been bittersweet now that I have kids, to be honest. I still record them, but it’s usually a couple weeks after Halloween before I can actually watch them all. I’m trying to be a good parent, but damn it’s hard. I’d love to watch my favorite Halloween movie tonight. Can you guess what it is?
